Granuaile

Granuaile (pronounced Grainne Whale) or Grace O'Malley as she was also known, was a legendary Irish Pirate Queen!! Born in 1530, Grace was told that she couldn't sail the seas - because she was a girl, and her long hair would get caught in the rigging. The bold Grainne\Grace (she doesn’t care for labels) shaved her head and stowed away on a boat until it so far out to sea, they couldn't return!

This strong, brave, intelligent woman and had many exciting adventures. She led scores of men, met with the Queen, fought and won many battles and maybe if you're lucky she'll tell you all about them... or will she make you walk the plank??!?

Granuaile is an interactive character who aims to teach audiences the ways of the sea! She tells stories of daring adventures on the high seas, plays games with the audience, and sings entertaining sea shanties. She can adapt her street shows from 3 to 30 minutes and can appear with a team of raucous pirates.
